POPPY, also known as GLADYS E. PEREZ-BASHIER, is a founding
member of Clique Calm Books Inc./Foundation (an independent
multicultural small press), a performance artist, the author of
Creepin’ Through da Hinge, and the editor of HEAL, a culturally diverse
anthology of poems, short stories, chapters of novels, and songs.
Reared in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, she is an alumna of City College of
New York’s graduate creative writing program. She currently teaches in
New York City and is working on a second novel. She will read with
PAMELA L. LASKIN, co-curator at Perch
