A Chorus of Poets, now in its 16th year, under the direction of Lawrence D. ‘Butch’ Morris continues a vital tradition in the spoken word community of constructing our experiences as a series of contextualized language towers, where the timbre of the spoken word forms the foundation from which spires of ideas and images emerge.

In Conduction®, and perhaps only there, is it possible for a musical community to dissolve its separate identities and communicate as a singular unit of creative expression.
A Chorus of Poets now tackles the texts of Herbert Marcuse’s “One Dimensional Man,” and Theodore Kaczynski’s “Manifesto.” Both writers were obsessed with how technology shapes our world and freedoms, and concurrently, it is the very human aspects of A CHORUS OF POETS that represents how people will adapt artistically to that world.

The performance of these texts by Marcuse and Kaczynski will also be incorporated into Freedom Club, a new film by Howard Monath-Schwartz.

Chorus Members: Yasha Bilan, Alexander Bilu, Justin Carter, David Devoe, Merry Fortune,
Mark Gering, Jameel Hobbins, Anyssa Kim, Nora McCarthy, Golda Solomon, Chantal Ughi,
Fay Victor, Chavisa Woods
