urbanseashell — a collection would like to introduceClare Donahue of One to One Studio. Clare is a Brooklyn-based kitchen & bath designer and a renovation coach. Clare consults with clients who are considering renovating and helps develop strategies to guide them through the process.
"I do this through either a one-time site visit or through an ongoing relationship. I'll look at
the space and make suggestions, then do floor plans, help shop for tile and fixtures, refer contractors, etc, as needed. For a lot of people I act as a sounding board. I seem to attract clients who sort of know what they want, but still need some guidance. Often, people who have already
hired architects will have me review the blueprints from
a kitchen/bath-specific viewpoint, or as a second opinion."
Clare's designs are clean and simple. She likes both modern and traditional interiors, but in either style her work is warm, friendly, and welcoming.
"I believe in designing for the way people actually live, not some fantasy, although I will always encourage clients to clean out what is unnecessary in their lives."
Clare works in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
