A Writing Workshop led by Cheryl Boyce-Taylor

Catching Our Stories: Is an 8-week writing workshop designed for beginning and advanced writers. We will discuss the work of poets and fiction writers such as: Sapphire, Sandra Cisneros, Juno Diaz, Edwige Danticat, Lucille Clifton, Kevin Young, Langston Hughes, and others. There will be in-class writing inspired by the works of the writers previously mentioned. In addition, we will interview one family or community elder and document his or her story. We will write about ourselves, and our families by tapping into the richness of our heritage, language, and culture.

Our workshop will end with a reading to celebrate the work we have created.
