Gravesend Inn - A Haunted Hotel

Theatreworks' high-tech haunted hotel, the Gravesend Inn, returns again this year! Produced by Theatreworks, City Tech's resident theatrical troupe with design, construction, and operating support provided by students and faculty of the College’s nationally unique Entertainment Technology Department, this theme-park-quality Halloween attraction has been thrilling children and adults alike since 2001.
Performances will be held on the following dates and times:

Prospect Park Is Haunted!
The beloved Halloween Haunted Walk is back and scarier than ever! Lurking high on Lookout Hill are zombies, wolf men, headless horsemen, good and bad witches, and other creepy characters. Visitors brave enough to experience this harrowing hike should head to Lookout Hill. The Halloween Haunted Walk is suitable for young children accompanied by parents/guardians or older siblings.
There’s also a carnival on the Nethermead featuring all kinds of fun, games, seasonal treats, and a puppet parade. Begin at Prospect Park Southwest and 16th St. The Haunted Walk and Carnival is open to all and completely free of charge.

Film director Mira Nair and author Suketu Mehta, two of the most prominent Indo-American cultural figures, will discuss their work and their perspectives on contemporary Bombay and New York City, in a special program presented in collaboration between Museum of the Moving Image and the Mahindra Indo-American Film Festival. The event, Bombay/NY: An Evening with Mira Nair and Suketu Mehta, will take place on Friday, November 7, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at The Times Center in Manhattan. The evening will include a conversation moderated by the Museum’s Chief Curator David Schwartz, a screening of Nair’s short film Migration, and a reading by Mehta.

Nair’s short film Migration (2007, 18 mins.), starring Sameera Reddy and Irrfan Khan, looks at AIDS as a class leveler in modern society by following its transmission through interweaving stories linking urban and rural India. Mehta will read from Maximum City.
The program is part of the Mahindra Indo-American Film Festival, November 5-9, presented by the Indo-American Arts Council.
